Sorry to mention Xmas already, but if your child finishes school by mid-December while you’re still working, or shopping and cooking for Xmas, you might like this post about Filmbites’ December Holiday options!

3 day Gaming workshop (Malaga)
5 day Screen Skills workshop (Malaga & Mosman Park) – acting, makeup SFX, presenting, voice and film!

Book by 1 December for the early bird discount! First 5 bookers also get an Admit 2 pass to see Robinson Crusoe at cinemas from 29 Oct.

Here are the details:

Gamer’s Paradise (3 days) – Malaga

GamingWorkshopDec2015One of Filmbites’ most popular one-day holiday workshops, we’ve expanded it so young gamers can get stuck into the Gamemaker program and really develop their understanding and skill (and have a fun time discussing all things gaming with all the other game-fanatics).

No coding is involved, so Gamemaker users can really enjoy learning and focussing on the fundamentals of game design.

Gamemaker is free on PC so your child can download it at home and continue creating at no cost after the workshop too.  Each participant has their own PC workstation provided.

P.S – we drag them away from the computer for an eye break every hour, and have popcorn breaks too!

Mon 19 to Wed 21 December inclusive (3 days) / 10am to 3pm each day

Suitable for ages 9-12yrs / Max of only 7 in the class – places fill fast – book now!

Unit 6 / 31 Oxleigh Drive Malaga (Filmbites Studio)

Special 3-day workshop fee: $230 if booked by 1 Dec / $260 if booked from 2 Dec (usually $115 pr day)

The Screen Scene (5 days) – Malaga or Mosman Park

In small groups of only 10, you’ll enjoy lots of mini screen-related workshops (Screen Acting, Screen Presenting, Voice-work (how to get the best out of your voice for acting and for life), Makeup SFX, Story & Character Development and Crewing & Film Equipment).

All your new skills will then contribute to the production of a short film shot over the last two and a half days.

You’ll even get to participate in the editing and choose which of your favourite scenes will make the final cut.

A copy of your amazing film (with bloopers!) will be posted to you on DVD a few weeks later.

Mon 19 to Fri 23 December inclusive (5 days) / 9.30 to 3.30pm each day (30 hours total including breaks)

Suitable for ages 9-13yrs / Max of only 10 in the class – places fill fast – book now!

$360 if booked by 1 Dec / $390 if booked from 2 Dec
