Filmbites was established in 2003 to teach filmmaking skills to young people, both those who want a career in the film industry and those who are interested in simply learning new skills and having fun with their peers.
As well as teaching filmmaking skills, our courses teach students vital skills for life such as team-work, cooperation, discipline, creativity and just doing your best.

After-school and weekend classes:
Filmbites hold courses in Acting for Film & TV, Filmmaking, Animation and Gaming. Most classes run for 2.5 hours, or 1.5 hours for under 9 year olds.
The first term of each course is skills-based. In the second term, the students put their new skills to work and produce their own short film – idea generation, storyboarding, directing, camera, light, sound and editing. Student films are entered into film festivals and often win!
Enrolments are open, however preference goes to prior students. New students are then added and matched to classes by age and experience.
Courses run as per the school term and are $11.50 per hour, payable at the beginning of the term.
Please see Courses for more detailed course information or Enrol for an enrolment form and timetable.
Holiday Classes:
During the school holidays, Filmbites run one-off workshops such as stunt work and make-up special effects, as well as some of the usual term favourites. Click here to view our latest holiday program, or subscribe to get the latest details as they are released.

The films will be presented at a mobile screening booth at the 2009 Fiesta Mends Street Carnivale.
If you are aged 12-25 years, you can enter a film into As You See It. Find out more here.
